What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is considered an evidence-based best practice treatment by the American Psychological Association and US Surgeon General. At its core, ABA therapy focuses on teaching new skills and reducing problem behavior through the use of scientifically proven strategies and techniques. ABA also includes other services such as parent training, school consultations, and staff training. One aspect that sets ABA apart from other behavioral therapies is the utilization of behavioral data. Behavioral data is taken each session and analyzed frequently throughout the treatment process to ensure treatment outcome effectiveness and accurate implementation of the techniques used.
